VM Image

A VM Image is a complete image of a hard disk, SSD or other disk, which is stored to an image file for virtual machines in one of the following formats: VMDK, VHD, VHDX, or VDI. These can then immediately be added to an existing virtual machine as virtual disks. More information on the VM Image mode of operation can be found in the Image Formats section.

Important: The use of VM Image is only recommended when working with intact disks and file systems. If this is not the case, create a FullImage or BitImage instead.
