RAID Image

Save RAID volumes to an image just as you would save a normal disk (basic disk). You also have the option to transfer specific partitions.

Source Media

Select the desired RAID volume from which you wish to create an image. The list contains the respective types of available disks. For more information on how to choose a disk, see the section on disk selection.

Partitions

The layout of the partitions on the source disk will be displayed in a bar below the disk selection dropdown. Individual partitions can be directly selected or deselected for inclusion in the copy by clicking on them in this bar. Open the PartitionSelect component with the option link. You can view details on the partitions here while making your selection.

Additional Options

Access Additional Details and Options via the button (fig. 2). Here you will find additional technical information about the source as well as these specialized options:

Image

Specify the target file where you wish to store the SmartImage by entering the file path or by browsing via the button.

Select the desired format of the image from the drop-down box below the image path.

Compression

To create a compressed image, select a compression type. Compression can only be applied to SmartImages, FullImages and HDClone BitImages (*.MFI und *.IMG).

Advanced Settings

In addition to the basic settings, there are Advanced Options … to choose from Options (fig. 3).

Options

The Options section offers general possibilities for the image process.

Shut Down Computer Automatically

You can choose to have the computer shut down automatically after the copying process. Specify the scenario after which the computer is supposed to be shut down:

In any case, a report will be stored automatically.

Create the Image

Click  Start  (fig. 1) to begin creating the image. The status will be shown in the progress bar in percent (%), along with information about the active part of the process, data transfer rate and the duration. To stop the process, click on  Cancel .

Finish

Once the process is completed, the Progress and Status indicator will appear to inform you of the process and the result of the image creation. You may also open the status component with while the process is still active to track the details of the run.
