With SSDs and other disks with flash storage, it is possible to mark non-occupied storage areas. Those disks that support of this function can thereby optimize flash storage internally, which in most cases results in a significantly higher writing speed. With DiskTrim, complete disks or selected partitions can be deallocated as a whole.

One or more disks, or even single partitions, can be selected from the list on the left side. Double-click on the disk to view its partitions. Click on the desired disk or on the desired partition to make a selection. In order to choose multiple disks or partitions, hold down the CTRL key while making the selections. When partitions are selected, their corresponding disks will also be highlighted, yet the selection will only apply to the chosen partitions.
The number of selected disks or partitions will be displayed on the top of the right side.
In addition, two more options can be selected on the right side:
With the Start button you may begin the optimization of the selected disks and partitions, or areas. They will be edited consecutively and will then be displayed in the list of results.
The list of results on the bottom right will outline all of the edited disks.

Once the edit of the selected disk is concluded you may close the app.
