DiskTest

The DiskTest checks the surfaces of disks, SSDs, flash drives and USB sticks for bad sectors. Bad sectors can sometimes corrupt saved data and affect the performance of your system.

Warning: The disk will be overwritten during the test. Any previous data will be irretrievably lost.

Disk

Choose the disk on which you would like to execute the test. For more information on how to choose a disk, see the section on disk selection.

Options

The Options section offers general choices for the DiskTest.

Shut Down Computer Automatically

You can choose to have the computer shut down automatically after the copying process. Specify the scenario after which the computer is supposed to be shut down:

In any case, a report will be stored automatically.

Advanced Options

In addition to the options above, there are Advanced Options … to choose from.

Start DiskTest

Click Start to begin testing. The status will be shown in the progress bar in percent (%), along with information about the active part of the process, data transfer rate and the duration. To stop the process, click on Cancel .

Finish

Once the process is completed, the Progress and Status indicator will appear to inform you of the process and the result of the test. You may also open the status component with while the process is still active to track the details of the run.
