HDClone/W only: Create copies or file images from a source that is being used simultaneously by other programs.On Windows, there are different access modes that can be selected based on the respective environment and requirements. You can choose one of the following options for access:

• VSS preferred: only use exclusive access if Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS) cannot be used.
• Exclusive access preferred: only use VSS if exclusive read access cannot be used.
• Exclusive access only: reserve exclusive access to the source.
• VSS access only: only allow the source to be accessed via VSS.
