Restore

This app restores a disk from a data backup which has previously been created with Backup, or copies data from an image back to a disk, with or without an overlay.

Note: Only FullImage, SmartImage and BitImage can be restored to a disk. A VM Image can be mounted by Miray Virtual Disk, or a virtual machine.

Image

Determine which image you wish to restore. If you know the exact file path and image name, you can enter it directly into the input field. To browse for an image, open the Image Browser with the button.

Snapshot

If there are snapshots of the selected image, choose the snapshot you wish to restore or select the base image from the dropdown list.

Image with Overlay

If an overlay exists for your selected image or snapshot, you can choose whether or not to include it in the restoration by checking or unchecking the Overlay box.

Partitions

The layout of the partitions on the image will be displayed in a bar below the disk selection dropdown. Individual partitions can be directly selected or deselected for inclusion in the the restoration by clicking on them in this bar. Open the PartitionSelect component with the option link. You can view details on the partitions here while making your selection.

Target

Select a target disk on which to restore the image. Access Additional Details and Options via the button. Here you will find technical information about the target and can choose the HPA and DCO options.

Options

Choose the following options to restore the image:

Shut Down Computer Automatically

You can choose to have the computer shut down automatically after the copying process. Specify the scenario after which the computer is supposed to be shut down:

In any case, a report will be stored automatically.

Click on Advanced Options to choose from the following:

Start Restoration

Click Start  to begin the process. The status of the process will be shown in the progress bar in percent (%), along with information about the active part of the process, data transfer rate and the duration. Open the Progress and Status indicator with during the active process to track the details of the run. To stop the process, click on Cancel .

Finish

Once the process is completed, information about the process and of the result can be viewed in the Progress and Status indicator.
